🚨 UNION CITY DESCENDS INTO AUTHORITARIAN MADNESS: LEROY TRUTH TARGETED BY STACK’S MOB IN PLANNED ATTACK on LEROY BY MAYOR STACK! 2 RIOTS ERUPT AT MAYOR STACK CAMPAIGN RALLY!🚨
June 16, 2025
Union City, NJ — In a shocking and deeply disturbing incident that resembles the tactics of a totalitarian regime more than a democratic campaign event, investigative journalist Leroy Truth and his colleague SCALZO Photos were violently obstructed, harassed, and physically assaulted during a campaign rally hosted by State Senator and Union City Mayor Brian Stack and his endorsed candidates for Assembly and Sheriff.
What unfolded last week was nothing short of a coordinated intimidation campaign. According to multiple witnesses and video evidence circulating on social media, Leroy Truth and SCALZO Photos were surrounded by a ring of campaign volunteers wielding oversized picket-style signs — not to support a cause, but to act as mobile human shields, blocking the journalists from filming the event or conducting interviews. These individuals followed the journalists’ every step, shouting vulgarities, blaring air horns inches from their ears, and physically impeding them from moving freely on the public sidewalk.
The scenes captured on video are chilling: a group of adults acting like a political paramilitary, using psychological and physical intimidation to silence members of the press. Worse still, the situation escalated to physical violence. SCALZO Photos was reportedly restrained, shoved against a car, and even strangled by two campaign volunteers — an outrageous and criminal act, caught on camera.
And where were the police?
Union City Police Chief Anthony Facchini and Captain Bergbauer were present at the scene, yet astonishingly, no arrests were made, and no immediate intervention was offered. In a moment captured clearly on video, Captain Bergbauer can be seen making direct eye contact with the assault as it occurred, yet later claimed he “had not seen” the incident. This level of indifference — or worse, willful complicity — is absolutely unacceptable from law enforcement officers sworn to uphold the Constitution and protect public safety.
This wasn’t a rally. It was a state-sponsored circus of intimidation, condoned by the very officials charged with preserving democratic order. Mayor and Senator Brian Stack bears full responsibility for allowing this hostile environment to flourish under his leadership. Whether he ordered this or allowed it through silence and inaction, the message is clear: dissent will not be tolerated in Union City.
This grotesque display of mob rule and political thuggery would be unthinkable in any functioning democracy. Yet here it is, in Hudson County, New Jersey — under the watch of a sitting State Senator who also chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee. The irony is suffocating.
For all of Brian Stack’s polished messaging about public service and community unity, this event revealed the ugly underbelly of his political machine: brute force, silencing of critics, and a deep contempt for the First Amendment.
No candidate, no mayor, and certainly no police officer should ever get a pass for standing by while journalists are physically assaulted for doing their job. This isn’t just a local scandal — it’s a warning sign for New Jersey and beyond. If a press badge and camera can’t protect you in Union City, then no one is safe from political persecution.
We call on the New Jersey Attorney General, the U.S. Department of Justice, and federal civil rights investigators to immediately review the footage and hold accountable all those who engaged in or enabled this shameful episode.
This is America — not a police state. And if Brian Stack’s political machine behaves like this in public, imagine what it’s willing to do behind closed doors.
