North Bergen, NJ — On Tuesday, July 22, the New Jersey Veteran Support Alliance (NJVSA) will host its inaugural fundraising event at Waterside Restaurant in North Bergen from 6 – 10 p.m. . The evening promises not just to raise funds but to elevate public awareness about how a simple $100 ticket can temporarily shelter a veteran in need, offering them a respite off the streets, according to NJVSA President Eric Crafton—a veteran of the U.S. Army and New Jersey Army National Guard  .

Crafton emphasized that the fundraiser also aims to unify the community around veteran-focused causes. “This event is about showing our community how simple it is to step up for those who served us,” he remarked  .

🛠 What NJVSA Does

Emergency Assistance: To date, NJVSA has helped over 65 veterans secure immediate access to essential medical and mental health services tied to service-related conditions  . Reintegration Programs: Through its signature “King/Queen for a Day” outings—ranging from Broadway shows to water‑park adventures—the organization facilitates meaningful family bonding experiences for veterans and their loved ones. Crafton notes these events help counteract the isolation that often accompanies deployment  . Innovative Partnerships: A recent collaboration with Jack Daniels Volkswagen provided a brand new ID Buzz van to ferry veterans and their families to Broadway performances—eliminating a common barrier to participation  .

Why This Event Matters

“This fundraiser isn’t just about raising money. It’s about rallying our community to ensure no veteran is left behind,” Crafton said, highlighting the Alliance’s broader mission to fill gaps in care—from emergency housing to family reconnection experiences—where bureaucracies often fall short  .

How to Participate

Date & Time: Tuesday, July 22, 6–10 p.m. Venue: Waterside Restaurant, North Bergen. Tickets: $100 each. All proceeds will enable NJVSA to continue its direct support services.

Community members who wish to purchase tickets and contribute directly to their mission are encouraged to visit the NJVSA’s event page (link provided in original announcement)  .

What’s Next

With this inaugural fundraiser marking a major milestone, NJVSA hopes to build momentum toward expanding its services across New Jersey. By combining targeted financial support with creative outreach programs, the organization is working to strengthen the safety net around returning service members—making sure no veteran goes unnoticed or unsupported.

NJVSA’s upcoming event offers more than a night out—it’s a powerful gesture of goodwill and active support for those who’ve served our country. Every ticket purchased, and every story shared, helps bring veterans home—at least for a night—and ensures they’re not forgotten in our communities.
