President Trump Attends FIFA Club World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium, Fans Cheer During National Anthem
East Rutherford, NJ — July 13, 2025
In a powerful display of leadership and global stature, President Donald J. Trump attended the FIFA Club World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium on Saturday night, where his presence transformed an international sports championship into a moment of patriotic pride and high-level coordination.
The President, joined by First Lady Melania Trump and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, arrived with the President before kickoff. As the national anthem played and the stadium cameras focused on the presidential suite, the crowd erupted into loud cheers and applause, many fans rising from their seats in a spontaneous show of respect. Though there were no chants, the moment resonated deeply with the audience, emphasizing the unity and pride that President Trump continues to inspire.
This moment was deeply emotional, especially as it marked exactly one year since the attempted assassination of President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania—a moment that shook the nation and reinforced his determination to lead with strength.
But behind the scenes, this was no ordinary event.
Security operations were massive in scale and intensity. The stadium and surrounding parking lots were flooded with Secret Service agents, who assumed complete operational control of the venue’s security protocols. Every entrance, suite, and perimeter access point fell under their command. Their presence was highly visible, disciplined, and coordinated, setting a tone of both safety and presidential gravity.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was also on-site, deployed to manage and reinforce the screening process for spectators entering the stadium. Fans reported additional layers of security checks, with TSA agents assisting local security teams to ensure every bag and body was cleared to standard.
Nearby, a mobile command unit from the FBI stood ready, a powerful symbol of federal coordination. In addition, an increased number of New Jersey State Troopers were present both inside and outside the venue, working alongside federal agencies to maintain order and control throughout the evening.
Emergency Medical Services were equally reinforced. The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA) EMS, the state’s lead EMS agency for all stadium operations, surged staffing levels for the event. They were supported by multiple neighboring EMS agencies, creating a robust, multi-jurisdictional response team to ensure the safety and readiness of the crowd and personnel. Medical stations were fully staffed, mobile units were strategically positioned, and roving EMS teams were deployed throughout the stands.
All police and EMS staff train for major events like this. “When the President of the United States is in the building, there’s no margin for error. Every unit was ready, every agency was synced up” says a NJ State Trooper.
While President Trump’s attendance energized the crowd and became the highlight of the night, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy was also in attendance—but received little to no attention. Seated separately, he was not acknowledged on the broadcast nor recognized by the crowd, in sharp contrast to the President, whose every appearance on screen brought applause and phones raised high.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to bring even more global attention to the United States, Saturday’s final served as both a successful test of security coordination and a patriotic rally around the President. It was a night of global competition—but unmistakably, America led from the top.
