Mack was a lifelong Jersey City resident and well known throughout the community for both his dedication as a police officer and his outgoing personality. According to reports and his obituary, he first worked as a corrections officer before joining the Jersey City Police Department, where he served for approximately 21 to 24 years in several districts across the city.
