BREAKING! Investigative Journalist Leroy Truth and Anonymous Watchdog Mayor Musto Silenced: Coordinated Facebook Takedowns Spark Fears of Political Retaliation in Hudson County

In a disturbing turn of events that raises serious questions about government overreach and Big Tech complicity, the Facebook accounts of two prominent voices exposing political corruption in New Jersey were deleted on the same day, within the same window of time.

For the second time, the Facebook account of investigative journalist Leroy Truth was shut down—abruptly and without public explanation. Even more alarming, the anonymous watchdog page known as “Mayor Musto”—also referred to as The Front Man—was deleted in what appears to be a coordinated digital purge. The timing was not a coincidence. Sources have confirmed that the administrator of the “Mayor Musto” page received an official notification from Facebook, stating that law enforcement had formally requested information about the account.

The Ghost of Union City Past: The Mayor Musto Page

The anonymous “Mayor Musto” page drew its name from William V. Musto, a former longtime Mayor of Union City and New Jersey State Senator. In 1982, Musto was convicted on federal charges of racketeering and corruption, accused of steering public contracts to favored companies tied to organized crime, including relationships with local mafia figures. Despite his conviction, Musto maintained a cult-like following, and shockingly, even won re-election while under indictment. His legacy has become a symbol of machine politics, abuse of power, and the entrenchment of corruption in Hudson County. Let’s remember that current Mayor and state senator Brian Stack is a previous mentee of William Musto and convicted felon Senator Bob Menendez, who just turned himself in two days ago into federal prison to serve out his 11 year sentence for corruption.

The Facebook page adopted his name in satire—serving as a digital resurrection of Musto’s corrupt political ghost to haunt the very successors who inherited and expanded the same political machine. It became a well-known anonymous presence in Hudson County politics, exposing misconduct, unethical behavior, and hidden political dealings at every level—from local city halls to the governor’s office.

Created and maintained by a group of anonymous individuals, the “Mayor Musto” page worked in tandem with Leroy Truth, providing historical context, leaked documents, and political analysis to supplement Leroy’s real-time investigations. It was widely referred to as “the Ghost of Christmas Past” on social media—revealing decades of shady dealings in the city’s power corridors and holding public officials accountable for what others were too afraid to say out loud.

Despite their controversial tone, no laws were broken, and no threats were made. Their work, though biting, fell squarely within the bounds of free speech and press freedoms protected by the U.S. Constitution.

Digital Silencing of Political Dissent

But constitutional protections seem to carry little weight in New Jersey’s political climate—especially in Hudson County, where machine politics still dominate under the guise of modern governance. Multiple sources rumored that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has been actively attempting to identify the individuals behind the Mayor Musto page, not because of any criminal wrongdoing, but because the exposure of truth has made the powerful uncomfortable.

This is not just censorship—it is a disturbing example of the weaponization of law enforcement and corporate censorship to suppress political dissent. It is now clear that the machinery of government is being used not to pursue justice, but to shield public officials from accountability.

The journalist behind Leroy Truth has already returned, launching his third Facebook account, showing resilience in the face of obvious intimidation. His persistence reveals a broader truth: government officials are not afraid to openly attempt to silence those who threaten their grip on power.

Brian Stack, Facebook, and the Prosecutor’s Office Under Fire

The actions taken against these accounts cannot be dismissed as mere coincidence. Brian Stack—Union City Mayor, State Senator, and Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee—has long ruled with unchecked power. The fact that these takedowns occurred in such a synchronized manner raises serious questions about whether Stack, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, specifically Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, or other government entities played a role in pressuring Facebook to act.

Are we witnessing a coordinated effort by public officials and social media corporations to erase criticism and conceal corruption? That question now hangs heavy over this unfolding story.

The “Mayor Musto” and Leroy Truth pages have exposed questionable behavior by state judges, prosecutors, law enforcement, Governor Phil Murphy, Attorney General Matt Platkin, and many others. Rather than investigate the wrongdoing, the state appears to be hunting the whistleblowers. This page also provided instructional videos on how to access public information for the average person. This Facebook page provided the tools and knowledge for the reader to research themselves and check the accuracy of all the information and exposure that is being posted.

This isn’t just a Hudson County scandal—it’s a statewide warning. The people of New Jersey, and the nation, should be alarmed by what’s unfolding. When anonymous satire and investigative journalism become targets of police action and digital erasure, democracy is no longer functioning—it is being strangled.

The people must demand answers.

And more importantly, they must demand justice.
